HELLO

im new to the boards just wanted some help i have a casio protrek series 1 gps watch i have had it a few years it stopped working

i sent it to casio and they said it needs a new module, they dont have one as it is against the law for them to have parts 5 years or older and the watch is from 1999,

can anyone help it is a great watch but now i dont know anyone who can fix it..i am sending a pic of the watch.

Well… I should say it will be cheaper to buy a new Protrek rather then fix this watch. At the same time, the model looks pretty cool (very unusual one).

If I were you, I could use two approaches:
- find ebayers selling watch modules and send them e-mails asking for a cirquit board for this watch
- go to Japanese and Chinese Web Sites (ebay like) and check for it - they usually have more stuff of this kind available. It will be a hard exercise unless you know those languages but…

In some cases I managed to buy working modules for my LCD watches from far-far away countries.

BTW, just to correct the pic, thats an PAT2-GP. I have the same watch 😉
