1973. One of the first (if not the first into production) dynamic scatter LCD from the watch pioneers Optel. Dynamic scatter LCD (also known as DSM) was a very short lived technology (not without it's faults) and was replaced by the much more common field effect LCD. This particular watch was sold under the Jule Jurgensen brand and boasts a hand soldered module with very basic functions (hours and minutes only) and crown set operation. This particular example is very early because the DSM display flashes (an attempt to conserve battery power). Case marked EPSA-OPTEL. Feels and looks excellent on the wrist. This is without question my favorite watch in my whole collection not only because it looks so fine but because of it's place in watch history.
