I have recently acquired a seiko M354 however the display is a bit faded and I think the polarizing film on the LCD needs replacing, but I’m not sure how to remove the entire case back without scratching or damaging the watch in the process. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about this correctly? any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou

It is a difficult one to remove same as the M154 and M159 I think. If you look carefully there is a slit in one corners that you are meant to get a blade into. It is tricky and it can get seized with gunk. If its stuck it might be worth dropping a small amount of penetrating oil around the rim of the caseback and leave it overnight it might help loosen it. In the worst situations I have had to use a screwdiver to lever it off, but be very careful protecting yourself and the watch case from damage.

Thanks for reply Adam, however since posting this the module has developed a fault whereby the display flashes when you push the light button, so I replaced the battery which made no difference to be honest I’m not sure which way to turn now with it.

It may need a strip down and clean of all the contacts. its difficult when you cant see the module, there could be battery damage anywhere and you cant see it. At least you know the watch is working so its not a logic problem.
