I have a dozen or so Casios, and have noticed that some have Japan ‘N’, ‘O’ or ‘J’ at the foot of the crystal.

Does anyone know what the various letters signify?

Cheers,

Maurice.

Not for certain Maurice, they also have letter numbers on the casebacks as well sometimes. I have read before in a thread that it is to define the factory of manufacture.
