Seiko A031-5019

Does this watch take a special Battery ? LR1130?
If you install new battery and watch blinks all the time then is new battery is that a problem ?

No no special battery, I think a 1130 will be fine. If it blinks it may be the battery. Bit sure of the older calibers but the late 79s need 1.5V or over to perform. If they drop below that they think the battery has discharged and start flashing. A better quality battery will hold it 1.55 volts right until it is discharged whereas cheaper batteries will gradually lose their power(dropping under 1.5v) as they get older and therefore start flashing much quicker than the better quality batteries even though they may have the same amount of charge left.
