Hi,
I’ve been into watches now for several years now, but I’ve only been collecting vintage digitals (Seiko’s) for less than a year. I really have the bug, I love them!
Anyway, I’ve noticed that except for G-Shocks there seems to be almost no enthusiasm for, or interest in vintage digitals.
I belong to the “big” forum and there seems to be near zero interest over there too, excepting G’s. It’s a shame but I guess their small size and retro appeal are lost on all but “old timers” like myself.
In a way I guess that’s a good thing as it may be keeping the prices down a bit. I also like modern day digitals, I have two G’s and a current pure digital Seiko.
Thanks for listening to my rant!

Doug

You’d be surprised at how many people collect digitals. You are right with the old timers who collect them for sentimental reasons. Also there is a huge vibe among the younger generation who appreciate the build quality and also the technological breakthrough the watches represent. Everything we use has some sort of lcd panel in. Who would have thought in 1984 Casio would have released a watch that through touch recognition recognized numbers and could calculate them. Even earlier in 1976 a calculator on your wrist!

Welcome to the underground movement of digital watch lovers.

There is a few other forums you might like

try newdwf.com or pocketcalculatorshow.com for like minded enthusiasts

And Doug look at the earlier watches on the site, they were very expensive and as large as any of the mechanicals, due to technology rather than fashion or robustness

regards
