Here are a few pics of my very rare Buler. It recently went to Onsa in Switzerland as it wasn’t working. They sent it back saying it couldn’e be fixed as the ‘module’ was broken. I took it apart and cleaned off all the green ‘fur’ from the inside, re aligned the button contacts and added a new battery. Hey presto it worked!

I’ve had this since the age of 10 when my dad finally gave it to me. I used to sneak into his bedroom before he was awake in the morning and put it on and wear it to school in 1981. I used to literally have 10 people around me in the playground looking at the stopwatch, turning the light on and listening to the alarm.

I reckon it’s the only one that looks like this, as Onsa hand made me a new bezel in 2001 as the plastic one that was on there became lost. They also replaced the plastic buttons with metal ones. It is virtually mint and still enjoy wearing it.  Buler sold the design and module to Tissot who produced it as the TSX-2.

Very nice, Is it the original band? I think it uses the very complicated 2045 module. I have a few here in different guises. Tissot, Cosmonaut and your Buler. Id love some photos to add to the site if you have time and any information you have on the model.

I’ve just sourced the bracelet. It’s not the original one, but it is a robust stainless steel one (new old stock) that dates to 1979 and it’s the closest one I could find using your website pics as a guide. I was very pleased to learn how to set the watch again using your Tissot manual. Quite a few people mentioned this watch is complicated. The buttons are A,B,C,D.  Top right is A and they follow clockwise round so D is top left. To set digital, display whatever you want to adjust (i.e. Day~Date) press D & B together (i.e. diagonals) then adjust the flashing number. To set the analogue it’s the other diagonal, so A & C.

My mum saw the watch advertised in a copy of ‘Motor Sport’ in 1981 and bought it for my Dad.

I understand Buler, as a brand, was taken over by The Onsa Watchmaking Co. in the early 80’s. Onsa last had my watch in 2001 to replace the buttons and bezel and polish the glass. They didn’t charge me anything. This time, they had the watch for 5 weeks so was expecting to get it back working though I’m not sure they did anything with it this time as it appears to have been an easy fix. Again no charge though!

My two boys say it’s the ugliest watch ever!  ....but I think you have to have been around it the era to appreciate it’s still running over 30 years later.
