i have just unearthed my casio marlin w-36 with red dots, having discovered how rare they are and i would love to get it working again but think it needs more than a battery. it has some scratches on the crystal and all the usual wear but is in general good order for its age , it even has the original strap. does any one know if these can be mended or where i can my a new module for it ?

i have just replaced the battery and reset the ac thingy which i didn’t know about before and its come back to life , im well happy. the only thing is the light and chimes dont work, the chimes i remember didnt work the last time i had the watch working. does any one know if this can be fixed, one of the tiny springs on the front is bent, could this be the reason ? and the light ?

Well, this was posted some time ago, but anyway: Yes, the spring you mention most likely has to do with the chime. Do you see a likely spot on the inside of the back cover where it is supposed to make contact?
The light could probably be fixed, most likely it is a broken bulb. On the Seikos I own the bulb is replaceable, possibly this is the case with Casio as well. I’m not sure where to find a replacement though.

Cheers!
