Hello everybody

Attached are images of a watch I bought for the equivalent of 0.50? at a flea market in France in 1996. I once had it working - it has beautiful red numbers, which only appear when one presses the button. However, I lost the batteries. Size-wise LR/SR44s fit but they’re too high and won’t allow screwing in the gold-coloured metal bar. Any idea which batteries would fit?

And, does anyone know more about the watch? Inside, it says “Olympos Electronic Co.” which I understand is a watch brand. It also says “Assembled in Korea”.

cheers
Philip

Hi!
I am by no means a watch expert but it would appear that the watch is an Otron. “Olympos Electronics Co., also known as Otron”, quoted from attached ad in Popular Science nov 1980. A quick search for “Otron LED Watch” turns up this: http://www.ledwatches.net/photo-pages/otron2.htm which looks pretty similar to yours. However, no info on batteries.

Quite a find for 0.50 ?!

Hi Johannes and many thanks for all this information. Very interesting indeed. I will contact the website you mentioned. Perhaps they know about the batteries.

Cheers
Philip
