The battery went dead after a long term storage. When I went to replace the battery, I be leave it was a wal-mart battery, there was some black coating on the edge were the battery fits in, I cleaned it off, then removed the battery for replacement, the new battery would not stay in place, I saw that the small wire that held the battery in place was bent down, I bent it back in place so the battery would stay in, but now the watch will not run. when I removed the battery it also had the black subsistence on it. what to do, the battery never did last more then 4 months in this watch since I bought it, also the stem would come out if not careful when adjusting it.

Don pictures always help. The black stuff was probably what kept the battery in place. Im not familiar with the watch so a couple of shots would help.
