just wondering if you can help

I have just received the above item and in the midlle of cleaning it

just wondering there are 2 buttons on either side of the main stem does anyone know if they are spring loaded or not

they seem to have no bounce back

No springs in the buttons the module provides the bounce to get them back in position.
