Here is my Seiko H357-5030T.
I bought this around 1981 from H Samuel for ?72, they also had a white faced version for the same price.
I still have this watch, although it needs a new battery -last time I used it , it worked fine. I read somewhere that this series was used in the James Bond movies, although I don’t know which H357 it was - I have seen many variations of the 357.[/img]

Very interesting I have never seen a pure black version before. If you get a battery in can you send me over some photos for the library and i’ll make it famous! James Bond H357-5040 or possibly 5049 as they are identical.

Hi Adam,
The photos are not very good so it may have misled you, the strap is silver brushed alloy - only the face is black. But it is still unusual in that there are no corner studs on the face - which I prefer incidentally - it makes the watch more elegant looking.

This is the watch from my college years, which is why the box is a little grubby. the seiko is very clean but has many fine scratches on the strap through wear n’ tear, but the face is unmarked.
I will definitely get a battery into it, & do some more photos for you as this was my first decent watch - which started me off collecting watches.

Other digital watches that I have owned:

1979 - Beltime 24877SHC LCD, this had world time zones around the face. Sadly no longer have this watch, very funky in its day
