Hi Adam et al,
I notice that the A904 manual on your website is just the Technical Manual, not the operating instructions. I have the A904 operating instructions in .BMP form. Also, your website lists no manual for the W309, which works identically to the A904, so the A904 operating instructions would be correct for the W309 (& W307 & probably W319). I have compared the operation of the A904 with the W307 & W309 and can’t find any difference (except the W307 has no light). The display is just a little different between the A904 and the W307/W309/W319, but they all operate the same. I have compared the modules in detail and they are physically identical also, except for the display, although the displays all show the same information.

My theory on why Seiko produced these different versions of the same module is as follows: (1) They changed the appearance of the display of the A904 for the W307/W309/W319 to distinguish it from their cheaper versions from Pulsar, Alba, & Lorus. (2) The light-less W307 came about to use up W309 modules where, at the factory, the light tested bad. Note that the W307 module has a switch, just no button to operate it.

I will email the A904 instructions and pix of the Alba W307, Pulsar W309, & Lorus W309 that I have.

Hello,

The manual found on this site relates to SEIKO D138-5040, while the watch I own is D138-5030. So there must be minor differences between the two models ?
On my 5030, I cannot set the month in the calendar, and I cannot set the 24 hours time indication, it remains locked on AM/PM setting, which I do not like.
Does anyone can help, please ? Thanks a lot in advance.

First post to this good place.

Attached are a few pics of my 1970’s Limit dress watch which was my Uncle’s. The watch has functioned since I’ve been in ownership but recently began to lose power in part of the LCD and eventually almost no power at all even with new batteries. Having removed the insides I find that the rubberised zebra power transfer strip is detaching from where it should be. In one pic you can see one of the strips has kept itself with the LCD cell (though the two are not attached to each other The other strip remains attached to the circuit-board although only part attached.

I don’t know whether these strips should be attached to the board, the LCD or both? Either way they are not as they should be. Can they be reattached in some way ? And is there anyone I could go to to make the repair.

The watch is probably not that valuable given its type, but is certainly quite old and wears well in some situations.

thanks

I have recently acquired a seiko M354 however the display is a bit faded and I think the polarizing film on the LCD needs replacing, but I’m not sure how to remove the entire case back without scratching or damaging the watch in the process. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about this correctly? any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou
