This is a rare hamilton qed 2 led watch from 75. Hamilton developed the worlds first led watch, however their first models on public launch were sold under "pulsar," the name was chosen by hamilton to be "futuristic" which went well with the amazing new technology . It is special on a number of points, firstly the frontier module is unlike other "normal" frontiers that are fitted to some other hamilton models. This one uses copper contacts and screw down battery contacts. It is exactly identical to the omega constellation 1 led (calibre 1602) from the same period. It uses a beautiful dot matrix display, with mth and date, later models changed to line segment and featured a day display,(omega calibre 1603).Rare to find any still working on account of damage through neglect and battery acid. The circuit board was ceramic which could be cracked through careless battery instalation ,using wrong size cells for example. This example is fully working and comes with its original boxes ,tag instruction book and shop tag. The band is extra wide and the clasp fitted to this one is the rarer wider( 3mm wider)version which is not found on any other similar hamilton inc the earlier pulsar moduled versions.Bracelet is huge steel links covered in 1/40 10k gold overlay trim. the crystal is glass and is signed in gold trim with the company logo,as is the case back and clasp.
